Work to do for Sloan at Shriner’s Open

Roger Sloan has a hard days work ahead of himself at the Shriner’s Open Friday. The Merritt golfer had an up and down day on Thursday, carding four bogeys and four birdies, for a level par 71.
It was a comeback effort from Sloan as he began his round with bogeys on the 5th, 7th, and 8th holes before fighting back to even over the final 10.
Entering round two the projected cut line is around 3-under par. The leader, Sung Kang from Korea is at 10-under. A pair of Canadians are tied for 10th entering round two, Nick Taylor, and Taylor Pendrith are 6-under par.
Sloan tees off for round 2 at 8:18 am.
