Elections Canada has validated the election results for September’s Federal Election.
The final results had 466 ballots rejected and a big swing in votes for Conservative Dan Albas, Liberal Sarah Eves and NDP candidate Joan Phillip.
Albas remains the MP-elect, actually expanding his lead over the field with approximately 700 more votes, and just shy of 2% more of the vote.
The biggest changed effected local Liberal Candidate Sarah Eves, who saw her vote count drop by 2,014 votes and 2.9%. The drop allowed NDP Candidate Joan Phillip to overtake Eves for second spot in Central Okanagan Similkameen Nicola by 147 votes.
The validated results also saw a modest reduction in votes for the PPC’s Kathryn McDonald, and small increase for Brennan Wauters of the Green Party.
