B.C. records 759 new COVID-19 cases, ten more deaths
VICTORIA — B.C. has recorded another 759 new cases of COVID-19, including 233 in Interior Health — the most of any health authority in the province.
In a news release, the province’s health ministry reports an active caseload up to 5,458, with 1,223 active cases in IH.
The number of COVID-19 patients in hospital has dropped slightly to 324, with 157 in intensive care.
Ten more people have died of the virus, lifting the B.C. death toll to 1,910. Seven of the deaths occurred in Fraser Health, two in Vancouver Coastal and one in Island Health.
The single-dose vaccination rate has reached 87.1 per cent of eligible British Columbians age 12 and older. The two-dose rate is 79.7 per cent.
There are 23 active healthcare outbreaks in B.C., including Kamloops Seniors Village, The Hamlets at Westsyde, Overlander Seniors Centre and Hillside Village in Salmon Arm.
