Dan Albas wins re-election in COSN
The Conservative Incumbent Dan Albas is projected to retain his seat in Ottawa.
With just over 60 of 247 polls reporting, CBC projected the Tory to win his fourth term as MP for Central Okanagan-Similkameen-Nicola.
He most recently served as Shadow Minister for Environment and Climate Change.
“Let me start by saying thank you, for all the people who waited in lines to make sure their voice was heard and ballot counting, thank you for doing that. Thank you to the Elections Canada staff that have had to go through a hectic 36 day election. I’d also like to thank all the volunteers,” said Albas. “I’d also like to thank the other candidates, Canadians are well served when they have a choice.”
“We have a lot of issues facing our country right now, whether it be focusing on the fourth wave of the pandemic and getting us on to a proper recovery so we can return to normalcy. There has been a lot of division that I’ve seen in this past election. We need to heal and we need to hold the government to account for it’s promises,” added Albas.
The Conservatives are set to return to the House of Commons with the same number of seats as when they left, 121.
