Merritt records 21 new COVID-19 cases

The BC Centre for Disease Control has released the latest local health area (LHA) COVID-19 data, covering the week of August 29 – September 4.
The Merritt area recorded 21 new cases of the virus, an increase of 13 cases from the eight recorded just a week ago.
The Kamloops area registered 249 cases, the exact same number as last week.
Areas such as Central Okanagan (Kelowna), Vernon and Salmon Arm saw decreases from last week, although most LHAs around Kamloops and Merritt are at an average daily rate per 100,000 population greater than 20.
