Merritt back to single-digit COVID-19 cases

The BC Centre for Disease Control has released their latest local health area COVID-19 data, covering the week of August 22 – 28, 2021.
The Merritt area recorded eight new cases of the virus down from 13 the week prior.
Kamloops saw 249 new cases of COVID-19 between Aug. 22 and 28, which is still an average daily rate per 100,000 population greater than 20.
Vernon nearly doubled its weekly COVID-19 cases.
Elsewhere, the Central Okanagan saw another decrease in weekly COVID-19 cases. That LHA saw 511 new cases reported, down over 200 from the previous week.
- Kamloops – 249 (up by 56)
- Cariboo/Chilcotin – 66 (up by 22)
- North Thompson – three (down by one)
- 100 Mile House – 11 (up by five)
- South Cariboo – five (unchanged)
- Lillooet – three (up by one)
- Merritt – eight (down by five)
- Vernon – 263 (up by 130)
- Armstrong-Spallumcheen – 24 (up by eight)
- Enderby – 19 (down by nine)
- Salmon Arm – 93 (up by 14)
- Revelstoke – three (down by 21)
- Central Okanagan (Kelowna) – 511 (down by 226)
