Merritt records first COVID-19 cases in weeks

The BC Centre for Disease Control has released their latest local health area COVID-19 data, covering the week of August 1-7.
Following four straight weeks of zero new cases, the count has gone up to six new cases.
The Interior Health Authority has been responsible for the bulk of new cases in recent weeks, with spikes occurring in Central Okanagan resulting in public health restrictions being imposed.
The Central Okanagan area recorded 849 new cases, while Kamloops saw 59.
