Most daily COVID-19 cases reported since May

COVID-19 cases are continuing to surge in BC, with the Interior Health Authority responsible for the bulk of new cases.
On Wednesday, BC Health Officials reported 342 new cases of COVID-19, the highest daily count since May. Interior Health reported 171 of the new cases.
There are currently 1,764 active cases of COVID-19 in the province, with 945 within the Interior.
Of the active cases, 55 individuals are in hospital and 23 are in intensive care.
Thankfully no new deaths were reported.
As of Wednesday, 81.5% (3,777,588) of eligible people 12 and older in B.C. have received their first dose of COVID-19 vaccine and 67.9% (3,146,669) have received their second dose.
