TNRD officially downgrades Spences Bridge to evacuation alert

The Thompson Nicola Regional District has officially downgraded an evacuation order to an alert for the community of Spences Bridge. The order was originally put into place 12 days ago as the Lytton wildfire continues to burn.

The associated evacuation alert stretching down highway 8 towards Lower Nicola remains in effect.

The Evacuation Order issued on July 22, 2021, at 1100 hrs will be downgraded to an Evacuation Alert, effective August 3, 2021 at 1200 hrs for the following 169 properties:

• 3577 to 3640 Big Horn Curl;
• 4884 Bridge Rd;
• 4850 and 4857 Chucker Cres;
• 3416 to 3545 Colvin Rd;
• 3701 to 3719 Deer Lane;
• 3557 to 3801 Merritt-Spences Bridge Hwy 8;
• 4666 to 4682 Merritt-Spences Bridge Hwy 8;
• 7210 to 10320 Merritt-Spences Bridge Hwy 8;
• 3637 North Frontage Rd;
• 3681 to 3769 North Frontage Rd;
• 3701 to 3814 Riverview Ave;
• 4800 School St;
• 3748 to 3784 South Frontage Rd;
• 7893 Speym Rd;
• 3607 to 3697 Station St;
• 4809 to 4835 Steelhead Pl;
• 3740 to 3787 Thompson View;
• 2869 to 4480 Trans-Canada Hwy

These property will remain on alert. An Evacuation Order may need to be reissued; however, if that is deemed necessary, the Evacuation Order process will re-commence.
