Highway 8 is expected to re-open at the same time in both directions from Spences Bridge to 17 kilometres west of Merritt. Highway 1 between Spences Bridge and Lytton re-opened July 22.
Should conditions change, the TNRD said an evacuation alert or order could be reinstated as necessary.
The Lytton fire has burned 51,210 hectares. Smoky skies, precipitation, lower temperatures and increased relative humidity resulted in decreased fire activity on Sunday (Aug 1).
