The Thompson Nicola Regional District has issued an Evacuation Alert south of Merritt in Electoral Area “N” – Beautiful Nicola Valley-South.

Drought conditions worsen in the Nicola Valley
In the latest drought condition update from the BC River Forecast Centre both the Coldwater and Nicola watersheds jumped from level 1 to level 3 drought. (The scale runs from 1-5)
Support for evacuees in Merritt extended to 30 days
Any evacuees currently finding shelter in Merritt are now able to receive support for up to 30 days.
Date set for 3350 Voght Street public hearing
The proposed development at 3350 Voght Street (Voght and Grimmett) is headed back to a public hearing after City Council approved first and second reading of a zoning bylaw amendment back in May.
