Merritt man charged for multiple offences

A Merritt man is expected to appear in court later this month on a series of charges.

“On Friday, June 25, 2021, Jaimie David Koivisto was charged with Possession of Credit Card Obtained by Crime and Theft Under $5000, stemming from two different incidents that were alleged to have occurred on Monday, April 26, 2021, and Wednesday, May 12, 2021 in Merritt,” said Sgt. Josh Roda.

Koivisto is set to appear before the Merritt law courts on July 20, 2021.

Merritt man pleads guilty

A Merritt man has plead guilty for an incident stemming from 2019.

“On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, Blaine Allan Morin pleaded guilty to one count of Theft Under $5000, stemming from a theft that occurred in December 2019, in Merritt. Mr. Morin also pleaded guilty to one count of Breach of Probation. He received 14 days in jail and 1 year of probation,” said Roda.
