Nicola Valley Arts Council opens new exhibit

The Nicola Valley Arts Council has opened its Summer exhibit, Body Art: Living Art of Tattoo and Body Adornment.

The new exhibit opened on June 30, 2021, and features work from local tattoo artists Brian Wheeler and Marco Merulla.

“We are excited to have such body art talent in our community! I hope all ages will come out and enjoy this unique display, and bring friends or family who may be visiting,” said curator Jano Howarth.

The Body Art exhibit will also include makeup artists, henna artists, avant garde hair stylists. Colleen Waddell of Double Take Beauty will display her airbrush bodypainting. Stunning and intriguing photography of the genre as well as unique art pieces will push the boundaries of body adornment and the physical aesthetic.

The exhibit will run until August 1, 2021.
