Merritt home sales on the rise

Home sales are on the rise in Merritt, hitting record highs for the month of February.

According to figures from the Kamloops and District Real Estate Association 31 homes were sold in Merritt in February, representing a 121% increase from February 2020.

The average price of the homes sold however decreased by 12.1% to $323,820.

Overall, in 2021, home sales are up 81.2% with 58 total units sold. The average price is also up 2.9% at $345,610.

The Kamloops real estate market leaned distinctly toward the seller in February.

New totals provided by the Kamloops and District Real Estate Association (KADREA) show a 37 per cent increase in sales last month compared to February, 2020.

Nearly as stark was the average sale price, which soared to more than $515,000, a 20 per cent jump over the same month last year.
