The Upper Nicola Band is reporting that all of their COVID-19 cases confirmed in recent weeks have recovered.
Throughout the beginning of 2021, Upper Nicola and the First Nations Health Authority confirmed eight positive cases in the community, all of which are now assumed recovered.
The Health Authority has not reported a new case at Upper Nicola since February 9.
Band members living on reserve will also be able to be vaccinated by the end of March. The timeline for members living off-reserve is not as clear.
“Please continue to stay kind to one another and help each other out if possible. It is nobody’s fault that we get sick and we can’t blame anyone; but we can be kind and help each other out,” said Chief Harvey McLeod.
