Rockin’ River 2019 Another Success Says Kenny Hess
Rockin’ River 2019 has officially come and gone, and all the remains are the memories. With 2019 fading into the past and 2020 moving into focus, Q101 caught up with Kenny Hess to discuss another successful festival.
“It was a wonderful festival, it really was, it was successful in every way,” said Hess. “We’re pleased with how organized it was, how smooth it was. We didn’t run into any major issues.”
“People have come back, they’ve realised this isn’t the old festival that is out of control,” said Hess. “Our patrons were very well behaved. I know they were thrilled with the entertainment that they were provided. And they were thrilled to hear that we have Keith Urban coming next year, I don’t think you can get any bigger than that.”
While Hess is looking ahead, the festival green team is just getting down to work at the site.
“2020 is fully in focus, but there’s another week of making sure the site gets put back to normal and there is no environmental damage left behind,” said Hess.
The team will be conducting a grid search of the area to ensure nothing gets left behind.
As far as next year goes, Hess mentioned that the lineup is already coming together.
“I’m excited about it, I know that we have some really good acts already booked and we will definitely be announcing them before Christmas,” teased Hess.
For Hess, he said it’s all about improving the experience for next year.
