Motion Notion Festival Taking Noise Complaints Seriously

 

Both the City of Merritt, and Merritt RCMP received complaints over the excessive noise at the electronic music festival held last weekend at the Coldwater Fields.

 

In response, Director Kevin Harper says if the festival returns next summer, keeping sound levels acceptable will be a priority.

 

“We would absolutely work to develop a plan to ensure there are no noise complaints next year.”

 

Part of the issue over the weekend was the cooler temperatures, which Harper says helped carry the sound further than expected.

 

This summer was the first time the Motion Notion Festival was held in Merritt.
