Emcon Services Awarded Former Carrillion Canada Contracts

Merritt based Emcon Services awarded more than $500-million worth of road maintenance contracts in Alberta and Ontario.
President Frank Rizzardo says taking over the contracts formerly held by Carillion Canada will more than double their number of employees, from 750 to close to 1,800.
The contracts, which will be in place the next four to eight years, include more than 40% of the roads in Alberta alone.
“We’re assuming all the Carillion contracts in Alberta. They go north of Ft McMurray, east and south of Calgary, and around Edmonton, and then up north and to the west near High Prairie. So, we will be more than doubling our work force.”
The $500-million in contracts acquired by Emcon Services also includes seven contracts in Ontario.
