Schoenborn Needs To Deal Better With Anger Management
A psychiatrist with the ability to grant community day passes for murderer Allan Schoenborn says he is making slow progress, but still struggles with anger management.
Dr Marcel Hediger told a BC review board hearing this morning that it’s unlikely he would recommend Schoenborn be granted supervised outings in the next year, saying he would need to see the man found not criminally responsible for killing his three children in their Merritt home back in 2008 better deal with anger management, and get help to cope with his emotions.
The review board granted the director of the psychiatric hospital in Coquitlam, where Schoenborn resides, the discretion to allow escorted outings into the community two years ago, but he hasn’t been allowed out.
Crown attorney Wendy Dawson argued today that the authority be revoked because Schoenborn poses too much of a risk.
She contends his earlier progress was a ploy to earn privileges from the review board.
