One of the 13 NDP MLA's who has refused to endorse Carole James' leadership says it's not a matter of asking her to step down.

And, Fraser-Nicola MLA Harry Lali says that was not the intent of a blistering attack in a letter yesterday from veteran MLA Jenny Kwan.

The Merritt Centennials kick off a home-and-home series with the Penticton Vees tonight at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.

The Cents are 0-3-0-1 against Penticton this season, but are riding a three game winning streak.

Lino Chimienti makes his third straight start for Merritt. In his last two games, he has a sparkling 1.94 goals-against-average and a .930 save percentage.

Jeff Jones looks to keep his hot streak going as he is riding a seven game point streak and has 18 points in his last dozen games.

Tonight's game against the Vees is peculiar because it's their second-to-last-meeting of the season, halfway through the campaign. The two teams wrap up their six-game season series in Penticton tomorrow.

Our Q101 broadcast is a 7 o'clock start tonight for the pre-game show.

Bylaw Enforcement Officer Marguerite Kempin says she only knows of five families keeping the birds.

On that note, Kempin says those people with permits must renew them December 31, along with all the other renewable permits and licences in the City.
