A Merritt City Councilor doesn't believe that organizations or societies asking for funding partnerships should have to spend their own money before the city's portion.

Shelley Sanders isn't in favour of Councilor Harry Kroeker's motion, which was tabled Tuesday night to the August 9th meeting.

Kroeker says too many groups get money from the City of Merritt and don't have any of their own.
