Gateway Livestock Exchange analyst predicting cattle prices will continue to fall.
Ann Wosko says Canadian beef prices will follow those in the United States, where herd numbers have increased dramatically the past two years.
"To go back and look at historical cattle price cycles... If we says 2014-15 was the top from a price perspective, then over the next three to four or five to six years we're going to see incremental price declines going forward as the NOrth American cow herd gets larger and produces more calves."
Wosko, who spoke to producers in Kamloops region this week, says prices are off 20 to 30% from their highs of a year ago, and expects further incremental declines over the next few years.
