The Voght Street project has been underway for a couple of months with an expected completion date of October 31, 2020.
But now, CAO Scott Hildebrand says the project is ahead of schedule.
“The focus right now is the actual road building, as you can see, they are raising the road on the Voght Street corner and preparing for asphalt,” began Hildebrand. “The better news is the paving plan is actually ahead of schedule by a month. So we hope to be paving by mid-September.”
The City is also planning phase two of the Voght street project which will see the remainder of the street, from the end of the current construction to De Wolf Way, completed next year.
One thing being investigated by staff is the possibility of round-a-bouts.
“They feel like they do have space for two round-a-bouts coming down Voght Street. If we can make that work that would be ideal for calming traffic,” concluded Hildebrand.
