It wasn’t a Bass Coast weekend like any before it.
While COVID-19 forced the cancellation of the normal festivities in the Nicola Valley, as the old saying goes, the show must go on.
So, instead of hosting thousands of festival-goers, the party moved online with the Pixel Virtual Festival. The fest was an encapsulation of a normal Bass Coast weekend with DJ sets, workshops, and more, all being offered for free online.
Part of this year’s fest was an opportunity for those participating to donate to the BC Civil Liberties Association.
“They’re one of the oldest and most active human rights organizations in Canada. Their mandate is to promote, defend, sustain, and extend human liberties in the US and Canada,” said co-founder Liz Thomson.
The tally is now in and Bass Coast 2020 was able to raise $2645.
