Back in early June, former Conservative MP for the riding Stockwell Day stepped down from several roles after facing quick backlash across social media following comments made during a TV interview.
Day was asked about the ongoing protests in the US, racism, and police brutality. In the Interview Day related his experience of being bullied for wearing glasses in school to the current situation.
Day later resigned as a board member for Telus, an adviser for a law firm, and as a commentator on CBC.
Day will now serve as the Chairman of the Board for First Responder Technologies, a developer of WiFi-based technologies for detecting concealed weapons and for deterring mass shooting and terror attacks involving concealed weapons.
Day represented Merritt in the house of commons for 11 years, from 2000-2011, as MP for the riding of Okanagan-Coquihalla.
