The man at the center of a Canada Day long weekend disturbance has been formally charged six weapons-related offenses.
Twenty-three-year old Michael Jerry Drynock has now been charged with a myriad of offenses including careless use of a firearm, assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm without a license and more.
Cpl. Brock Hedrick of the Merritt RCMP said the charges were the result of an incident in which the accused threatened a local Merritt man with a firearm.
Hedrick also confirmed that this is the same Michael Drynock who along with Jayson Gilbert were changed last month with first-degree murder in the death of Branton Regner.
Regner's body was found in the Fraser River near Williams Lake in late August.
