Today at the Civic Centre, a community gathering is going to be held to acknowledge the missing and murdered indigenous women and girls.
The event will include two keynote speeches from Stephanie Harpe and Helen Knott.
Harpe’s story is currently being shared through TED talks, “Survivor to Successor.” She is an internationally recognized advocate for missing and murdered indigenous peoples of Canada.
Knot has just published a book, titled a memoir- in my own moccasins. Knot moved to Merritt back in 2014 to attend NVIT.
All are welcome at the event which will run from 10-4 today.
