Merritt RCMP officer doing his part for kids in crisis.
"It was far and away the most rewarding thing I have ever done as a police officer."
Cst Jon Puterbough was one of 25 officers that took part in the Cops for Kids foundation's 1000km bike ride earlier this month, cycling through 22 communities in 10 days to raise money for children in medical, physical, or traumatic crisis throughout the Southeast District.
The ride has already raised over $330,000.
"I know that there are a couple families in Merritt that have accessed the funding in the past. So, its awesome. And if given the chance, and I recieve support again from the detachment and community I will definetly be back."
More than $4,000 was raised locally in support of Puterbough's ride at a Jail and Bail organized by members of the Merritt RCMP back in July.
