Merritt residents re-elect all of mayor and council

The City of Merritt is running it back with its incumbent council.

Mayor Mike Goetz won his re-election bid during Saturday’s (Oct. 17) municipal election, holding off the challenge from Gordon Keyser. Goetz was first elected as mayor of Merritt in 2022 after serving 10 years as a city councillor from 2008 to 2018.

Goetz finished with 1,249 votes while Keyser finished with 466.

Meantime, incumbent councillors Yvette Baxter, Wendy Charney, Dana Egan, Adam Etchart, Manuel Olguin and Paul Petroczi have won re-election.
