Former Merritt Mayor Linda Brown to take position on TNRD board

Former Merritt Mayor Linda Brown has once again entered the political arena.

Brown, was Mayor of Merritt from 2018 to 2022 when she defeated Neil Menard for the city’s top position before losing to Mike Goetz in 2022.

Brown will serve as the Thompson Regional School Board (TNRD) representative for Electoral Area “N” (Beautiful Nicola Valley – South), replacing Herb Graham who steps down from the position he has held since 2005.

Brown was unopposed for the nomination.

Meanwhile Lower Nicola resident Jim Harvey, will succeed retiring Area M (Beautiful Nicola Valley North) director David Laird. Laird, a former Merritt Mayor, was elected in 2018 and unopposed in 2022.
