BREAKING: Evacuation Alert Expanded – South of Comstock Road, South of Brookmere, and North of Juliet Drive – Ainslie Creek Wildfire

An Evacuation Alert has been issued by the Thompson-Nicola Regional District, effective August 10, 2026, at 1930hrs due to the Ainslie Wildfire Wildfire

Approximately 118 address properties have been put on Alert in Electoral Area “N” (Beautiful Nicola Valley-South).

Impacted areas are as follows:

• 5815 Brookmere Rd;
• 872 to 933 Brookmere Station Rd;
• 905 to 920 Caboose Lane;
• 5340 to 5633 Coldwater Rd S;
• 5135 to 5147 Conductor Way;
• 5120 to 5132 Engineer Ave;
• 3040 to 3097 Figlenski Rd;
• 3765 Iron Mountain Rd;
• 440 to 2985 Kane Valley Rd;
• 5644 to 5868 Maka-Murray FSR;
• 5101 to 5152 Railway Dr;
• 852 to 1016 Roundhouse Dr
• Any other properties as outlined on the attached map.

The Evacuation Alert is now in effect for approximately 840 addressed properties total in Electoral Area “I” (Blue Sky Country), “M” (Beautiful Nicola Valley-North), and Electoral Area “N” (Beautiful Nicola Valley-South).

This Evacuation Alert is in place to prepare you to evacuate your premises or property should it be found necessary. Residents will be given as much advance notice as possible prior to an Evacuation Order; however, you may receive limited notice due to changing conditions.

What You Should Do:

• Locate all family members and designate a meeting area outside the evacuation area, should an Evacuation Order be issued while separated.
• Pack essential items for quick departure, such as government-issued ID, medications, eyeglasses, valuable papers (e.g. insurance, credit, and mortgage information), and immediate care needs for dependents or pets. Pack keepsakes if time allows.
• Make arrangements to stay with family or friends; accommodation may be limited during emergencies.
• If you require public aide assistance with lodging, food, or essentials, ensure you have a BCeID digital ID set up, then create or update your BC Emergency Support Services profile at ess.gov.bc.ca.
• Prepare to move disabled persons, children and/ or neighbours, if assistance is needed.
• Prepare to take pets and to move large animals and livestock to a safe area, if possible.
• If you are a livestock producer, ensure that you have your Premise ID in the event that you require support if an Evacuation Order is issued.
• Arrange transportation for all your household members. Fill gas tanks of personal vehicles to be used in case of an Evacuation Order.
• Consider removing perishable items from your fridge, or plan to take them with you should an Evacuation Order be issued.
