Evacuation Alert issued for Lower Nicola Indian Band properties

The Lower Nicola Indian Band has issued an evacuation alert for several a myriad of properties in the region.
The wildfires from the Brunswick Creek Complex of fires including the Anderson Creek, Ainslie Creek, and Boston Bar wildfires have ravaged more than 33,600 hectres of property as it burns out of control.
In a message posted to social media late Friday night, the LNIB stated that the current wildfire in Speous IR No 8, Pipsuel IR 3 and Nicola Mameet IR No 1 poses a threat to the structures and residents for the following properties addressed as:
- Pipsuel IR1 Lots 4,5,6,7,-6561 Highway 97C
- Speous IR No. 8 -2280 Sunshine Valley Road
- All addresses in Nicola Mameet IR 1 including

The LNIB has issued the evacuation alert to prepare residents to prepare you to your premises or property should it be found necessary.
Residents should pack essentials such as government ID, medications, valuable papers, and immediate care needs for dependants. You are also urged to take pets with you and move any livestock to a safe location.
The Nooaitch Indian Band has issued an evacuation order for its main reserve, while the Lower Nicola Indian Band has issued an evacuation alert for several reserves as the Brunswick Week Complex continues to expand west of Merritt.
The evacuation order, issued late Friday (July 24), upgrades an evacuation alert that has been in place for Nooaitch since July 8, when the Brunswick Creek wildfire first began threatening the community.
The Merritt Herald reporting this morning that residents affected by the Nooaitch evacuation order have been directed to leave immediately and register with Emergency Support Services in Kamloops.
The latest notices add to a growing list of evacuation orders and alerts across the region. Evacuation orders remain in effect for Boston Bar, North Bend, Spuzzum, Hells Gate and other nearby communities, while additional evacuation alerts remain in place in parts of the Thompson-Nicola Regional District west of Merritt.
Residents are encouraged to monitor the BC Wildfire Service, Drive BC, EmergencyInfoBC, Merritt Herald and Q101.ca for the latest wildfire and evacuation information.
