Third ER Closure in less than month st Nicola Valley Hospital coming Sunday morning

The Nicola Valley Hospital will be closed for the third time since June 18, this time for eleven hours from 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday morning.

Merritt area residents are again being advised to the temporary changes to the emergency room hours, after going the first six months of 2026, closure free.

Patients can access care at Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops during this time.

All other inpatient services will continue at Nicola Valley Hospital.

People in the community who need life-threatening emergency care (i.e., chest pains, difficulty breathing, severe bleeding) should always call 911 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.
