BREAKING: Emergency room at Nicola Valley Hospital will be unavailable for 25 hours beginning Friday morning

Interior Health advising Merritt and area residents that emergency services at the Nicola Valley Hospital will be unavailable for 25 hours  beginning at 7 a.m. on Friday morning.

The emergency room will remain closed until Saturday morning at 8 a.m.

This is the first closure of the emergency room in Merritt in 2026.

Patients can access care at the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops or at the Kelowna General Hospital.

Interior Health said all other patient services will continue as normal at the Nicola Valley Hospital.
