Two arrested in downtown Merritt Tuesday afternoon

Two people were arrested in downtown Merritt on Tuesday afternoon (June 2), after RCMP shut down a portion of Quilchena Avenue.

Details are limited as to why the two were apprehended after police blocked off a portion of downtown from Quilchena and Garcia.

Witnesses told Q101 News that the detachment were assisted by the canine control unit during the incident.

There were no reports of injuries or details pertaining to the arrests, however Q101 has reached out the Merritt detachment of the RCMP for details.
