Motorcyclist airlifted to hospital after crash on Coquihalla Highway Monday

One patient was airlifted to hospital in serious condition after a vehicle incident that closed northbound traffic on the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt.

BC Emergency Health Services report paramedics received the call for a vehicle incident involving a motorcycle on Highway 5 near Shylock Road north of Hope at 6:08 p.m. Monday (June 1). An air ambulance with critical care paramedics and two ground ambulances – one with primary care paramedics and another with advanced care paramedics – responded to the scene.

DriveBC noted that a police investigation took place at the scene of the vehicle incident. CFJC Today has contacted BC RCMP for further information.

The northbound lanes of the Coquihalla Highway between Hope and Merritt reopened shortly before 1:00 a.m. Tuesday.
