Chief Lee Spahan to return to the Coldwater Indian Band’s top post

The Coldwater Indian Band have returned Chief Lee Spahan to the band’s top post.

In the band recent election for Chief and council held on Saturday,  Spahan, garnered 136 votes while Jackie Aljam received 69 votes and Cheryl Rule picked up 64 votes.

Returning to serve on the Coldwater Council will be Michael Smithers,  Shawn Bob, Leah Collins, and Jackie Aljam while newcomers Robert Clarke, Lorna Sterling, Jordan Collins, Jessie Aljam, Leah Collins,  and Xni Grismer-Voght were also elected.

Officials were happy with voter turnout and electoral officer Marcus Hadley noted that there were no spoiled or rejected ballots.
