No “Out of Control” Wildfires in province right now: BCWS

The BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) reporting there are no out-of-control wildfires again today (May 25) as 25 blazes burn across British Columbia.

The wildfire service also report there are no active wildfires burning in the Kamloops Fire Centre which includes Merritt and area.

Human caused fires continue to be of concern though, as 16 of the 25 fires burning across the province as believed to been started by man.

A mixed weather system this past weekend, kept the fire totals at bay, however the BCWS says that more seasonal temperatures are expected throughout the province this week.

Fire danger remains highest in the Southern and central Interior and the Peace Region, where precipitation has not been sufficient to recover drought conditions.
