Level Three watering restrictions NOW in place in Merritt

The City of Merritt has now imposed Level 3 Watering Restrictions within the city limits.
Level 3 restrictions means watering is permitted however, several rules need to be adhered to which you can find on the City of Merritt’s website.
Those rules include:
- Lawn and garden watering is permitted up to two days per week.
- Watering is only permitted during designated morning or evening hours. Watering days are assigned by house address or unit number. If your residence is an even number you can water Thursday and Sunday and odd residences can water Tuesday and Saturday.
- Hand watering or drip irrigation are permitted at any time
- Outdoor washing is permitted at any time
- Pool or spa top up is permitted at any time.
According to it’s website, the City of Merritt reports it has enough room in its provincial water license to accommodate future growth, currently only utilizing about 75% of what the city is allowed to consume.
