The management and staff of the McDonald’s franchises in Merritt and Kamloops are elated with the results of this past Wednesday’s McHappy Day.
Brandy Gozda Sekhon, owner/operator of the six restaurants, said she was ecstatic to announced the one day fundraiser realized $63,096.68 which will go to the Ronald McDonald Family Room located in the Royal Inland Hospital in Kamloops.
“My heart is so full, and I want everyone to know how grateful we are for your support,” Sekhon posted on social media Friday. ” I am so proud of our community and even prouder of all the teams at our six restaurants.”
Proceeds from the days sales at all six locations will go to the Ronald McDonald Family Room which provides a home-like atmosphere, and calm space for families of pediatric, NICU, and obstetrics patients to rest, eat, and shower just steps from their child’s bedside.
In 2025, $11.3 million was raised across Canada for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
“I’d like to thank everyone who supported McHappy Day, whether by making a purchase or by volunteering at the restaurants during the event,” she added. “You have definitely made a difference in the life of a family with a sick child in our area.”
