RCMP call Monday evening fire “intentional” as the investigation continues

The Merritt detachment of the  RCMP are looking for the publics help in their investigation into a suspicious fire on Monday night in the city..

Firefighters were called to the scene of a fire in the 2300 block of Priest Avenue just after 6 p.m. Monday and found two structures involved.

Fire Chief Dave Tomkinson said that the fire was quickly brought under control and members were able to contain the damage.

RCMP told Q101 in an email that police that the fire was intentionally set and that the investigation is continuing.
