The RCMP Musical Ride will be making a stop in Merritt this August, and tickets will go on sale in less than two months.
The Musical Ride will perform at the Nicola Valley Rodeo Grounds on Wednesday, Aug. 26, as part of what organizers say is a “limited tour in B.C.”
“We are proud to bring this wonderful family oriented experience back to Merritt,” said Peter Spencer, the president of the Nicola Valley Rodeo Association (NVRA).
In a statement, the NVRA says the event will feature 16 RCMP officers and their horses who will perform precision drills and elaborate formations choreographed to music.
The arena setting offers spectators a rare opportunity to experience the Musical Ride up close,” the NVRA added. “Internationally recognized, the performance is a proud symbol of the tradition and heritage of Canada’s national police service.”
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for children aged six to 15. Kids under six will get in for free. Proceeds will go to support ongoing maintenance and upgrades at the Rodeo Grounds.
Online ticket sales will begin on May 1, though organizers say tickets will also be available at the gate on the day of the show.
The RCMP Musical Ride was last in Merritt in 2018, and it also made a stop in Kamloops in June 2023.
