Motorists travelling on Highway 5 tonight (Jan. 22) will need to make adjustments in their route as Yellowhead Road and Bridge (YRB) has announced a highway closure overnight.
The closure will affect the southbound lanes just south of Service Area 14, near the Othello area of the Coquihalla.
Paving the highway is the reason for the closure, which will take effect at the 286 Exit in Merritt at 10:00 PM and is expected to remain until 4:00 AM Friday.
During this time, YRB says that the Coldwater Rd will be available to local traffic only, with traffic control personnel stationed on the freeway, at the 286 interchange, and on Coldwater Rd.
