Day Three of Country Christmas to be an “Adventure”
The Minions brought laughter to those in attendance at LTD Christmas Dance Recital last year.
It’s day three of the Nicola Valley Country Christmas celebrations, and the youngsters take center stage today as Love to Dance Academy presents their annual recital “Adventures In Toyland” at the Merritt Civic Centre.
As in years past, there are two performances of “Adventures in Toyland” today. The first will be at noon (Nov.26) with the doors opening at 11:00 a.m., while the second is at 5:00 pm with doors opening at 4:00 p.m. this afternoon.
“It’s been fun preparing for this show,” said Kia Henriksen, Love to Dance Academy artistic director. “We have youngsters ages three to 16 participating this year in all of the disciplines we offer.”
Hendriksen said that this show took eight weeks to prepare and thanked everyone who helped with the production.
“We (LTD) are very lucky to have so many volunteers and parents who help out with our show every year,” Hendriksen added. “We certainly couldn’t do it without a complete group effort.”
The week’s events continue on Thursday with the Country Christmas Concert at the Merritt Civic Centre, featuring many of the area’s best singers and performers showcasing their musical prowess and performing some well-known and original Christmas compositions sure to put you in the holiday spirit. Q101’s Roger White will again be the host for this year’s show, which begins at 7:00 p.m.
On Friday, the Christmas Craft Fair returns to the Merritt Civic Centre beginning at 2:00 p.m., followed by the highlight of the Country Christmas week, the 2025 Country Christmas Light Up Parade featuring a very special visitor from the North Pole.

The Christmas Light-up Parade begins at 7 p.m. with the line-up beginning at 5:00 p.m.
