Four Weapons Seized following last week’s shooting in Merritt
Merritt RCMP have released an update into the investigation into a shooting that occurred last Tuesday, Jan. 7 in the 1800-block of Orme Street.
In an email to Q101 news, detachment commander, Staff Sgt. Josh Roda, said a search warrant was executed in the area in relation to the shooting. He reported four weapons were seized and evidence has been forwarded to the lab for analysis.
The incident happened last week when the suspect came out of a home, approached the victim — who was standing at the corner of Orme Street and Quilchena Avenue — and shot the victim in the leg.
The suspect, then ran south on Orme Street before heading east down the alley between Quilchena and Coutlee Avenues.
The victim was rushed to hospital, with non-life threatening injuries.
