Deadline for Christmas hampers for those in need is TODAY, Nov 28

Officials with the Nicola Valley Food Bank would like to remind residents that today, November 28, is the final day to complete your Christmas hamper application process.

Food bank executive director Derlanda Hewton told Q101 news that this year, lots of people are needing help.

“From my recollection, the need for sponsorship has never been greater,” said Hewton.

She added that at last count, 60 family sponsors are needed for the area however that number is expected to grow with last minute application due to be returned by today.

The original deadline was Nov 21 however the cut-off date was extended until Nov 28 (today) and Hewton adds that the Food Bank never wants to see families left out however due to budgeting, applications need to be in TODAY.

Applications for sponsorship can be found at www.nicolavalleyfoodbank.com while monetary donations will also accepted through the website or via e-transfer at foodbank@telus.net.
