The mayor of Logan Lake has received a very special honor.
On Tuesday, Mayor Robin Smith was awarded the King Charles III Coronation Medal by Jackie Tegart, Member of the Legislative Assembly for Fraser-Nicola.
Recipients of this award are recognized for making a significant contribution to Canada or to a particular province, territory, region or community of Canada, or have made an outstanding achievement abroad that brings credit to Canada.
“It was an honor to present a King Charles III Coronation Medal to my dear friend, Mayor Robin Smith. Robin’s unwavering dedication and love of the District of Logan Lake will have a lasting impact on the community” says MLA Jackie Tegart. “This medal is a well-deserved recognition of her leadership and the deep care she has always shown for the people she serves. I’m honored to not only work alongside Robin but to also call her a friend.”
The medal is administered by the Chancellery of Honours at Rideau Hall with the B.C. government handing out a total of 551 of these coronation medals in 2024.
Family, friends and staff filled Council Chambers at the regular council meeting Tuesday night to witness this prestigious award ceremony.
