BREAKING: Stumbles Creek Wildfire report “Being Held”

The B.C. Wildfire Service has downgraded the Stumbles Creek Wildfire to “being held” after fire fighting crews made significant progress on Wednesday.
Cooler temperatures on Wednesday assisted efforts to quell the five-hectare wildfire 13-kilometres-northeast of Merritt near the Craigmont Mines.
The fire was discovered Tuesday.
Meanwhile the Shetland Creek wildfire continues to wreak havoc near Spences Bridge and surrounding communities. The wildfire which is estimated at 22,476.6 hectares. The wildfire of note has forced the evacuation of hundreds from their properties near Ashcroft, Cook’s Ferry Indian Band and Logan Lake while evacuation alerts remain in effect for areas in Lytton and Cache Creek.
