LNIB setting up sprinkler guard around Rocky Pines
Members of the Lower Nicola Indian Band (LNIB) are being proactive rather than reactive when it comes to wildfires.
The LNIB Fire Department is setting up a sprinkler guard around the perimeter of Rocky Pines as a precautionary measure.
With the recent spate of wildfires in the province, in particularly close by with the Shetland Creek wildfire and the Stumbles Creek wildfire burning in the region, fire officials in Lower Nicola are being prepared.
The recent warm stretch of weather already has conditions throughout the Kamloops Fire Centre tinder dry and with forecast unsettled weather possibly bringing lightning to the region, officials are in Fire Smart mode.
Residents are reminded that the fire hydrants will be hooked up which in turn can affect the water.
If you notice a change in your water, please run your cold water until it becomes clear.
