The month of June was another busy one for members of Merritt Fire Rescue.
Merritt Fire Chief Dave Tomkinson reported to Merritt City Council on Tuesday, July 23 meeting that the department received 103 calls for service in June.
The report included the massive Midday Valley Road fire and a residential structure fire under the TNRD Fire Protection Agreement.
FireSmart home assessments continue to climb in the city with 14 inspections conducted in June. In May, it was reported that 40 assessments were done by the FireSmart safety team.
